I need help with my squire stratocaster?

i got my squire stratocaster 2 yers ago for my 13th birthday and i havent played it much since them cuz i got tom dleonge starts which i think sound better. But my question is why does my squire sound bad when i play .... liek the stinsg sound like crap, the distrion and tioen is bad, and it just seems like the tom delonge start ... the TD strat strings seem much thicker and harde to bend and also has a humbucking pickup .... but my strat th strings are very flexible and it has 3 single coil. so does anybody nop y my squir strat sound so bad. and also is it hard to change out the brige pickup to put in a humbucking pickup on a start? cuz i want to make it a fat start instead of 3 single coil. so if any body can help me thanx
