Are there any programmes or cheap fares to get to Wales or Scotland?

I'm a teacher and would love to be able to travel to Wales and/or Scotland during either the summer months or one of my two week "vacations" during the school year (Spring Break or Christmas Break). Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of money (cancer and the teaching salary) and was wondering about any opportunities or programmes or cheap airfares available? (I don't think I could do a teacher exchange as I teach Spanish.)
