Help Bought a bed online its damaged Retailer is unhelpful?

Bought a bed online,from a company in devon.We talked to them for arrangements about collection,they told us they have distribution centers all over england,and that one i close to where we live.So we paid for the bed online full payment,it was then stored at the distribution centre.Our driver got the bed and bought it to our house.After he had gone we opened up the bed boxes and realized the headboard is damaged as we was putting it together.So we phoned the company and they told us to take a picture of the damage and e-mail it us.So we did that and its taken 3 days,and they are saying that your driver was asked to inspect the bed before taking it from the distribution centre.We spoke to the driver today,and he said nothing was said and there was no paperwork.the boxes was all sealed.So where do we stand now,cause we want a Replacement headboard,and the devon company are saying no,where do we stand?
