How religion enslaves gullible people?

They are often caught at birth and indoctrinated. If you raise a child in a religious house and within a religious community, they will not understand any other way of life. The same is done with vulnerable adults and adults who are at low points in their life. They are shown the loving and caring way of religion long before they are shown the evil side of it. I saw this first hand when a friend tried to convert me. First he focused on the loving side of it, then he focused on the fun side of it and when neither of these tactics worked he focused on the fact that I would go to hell if I did not imilate. (He was a born again Christian.)
