Sugar gliders, I want one but...?

I have been looking for a sugar glider for over a year now, but its been quite diffucult seeing as they range from $150-$1500. I don't have that kind of money, but am willing to give them a good home, and care for them properly. I live in the NC area... so does anyone know of anyone who might be willing to help me adopt or get a sugar glider?
