What episode of "The Simpsons" was the turning point of the series?

To me, the episode where Bart and Lisa went to military school was the first episode with a distinctly different feel. I think the episode was titled: "The Secret Battle of Lisa," or something like that. Please, no: The Simpsons is STILL as funny; because we all know it's not!
